I like drawing and making comics. They are usually very inappropriate. A friend of mine encouraged me to put them on a tumblr and that’s how “+5 Mace” started. Well actually, before that I drew with sharpies on t-shirts for friends. I had a contest where I posted a picture on my old blog of somewhere in LA and if they could guess where it was I’d make them a t-shirt. It wasn’t called +5 Mace, maybe it was “weartheeff”?
Ok, so I started posting on tumblr and people actually liked some of the comics I made. There were lots that no one liked, but there were some very popular ones. So another friend convinced me to put them in a ‘Zine. They were black and white line drawings so I turned it into a coloring book, and yet another friend decided to carry them as a distributor and sell them to local comic book shops.
The process after that was to post a bunch on Tumblr until I got enough “good ones” to put into a new coloring book, make a coloring book, sell it, and repeat.
I eventually made enough for 4 coloring books, had a shopify shop, printed t-shirts, and generally made a few dollars here and there off of my arts. Here’s some of my favorites.
